The barista course is designed to introduce the world of coffee to aspiring baristas, cafe employees, coffee trading companies, and coffee enthusiasts, with no prior knowledge required.

What will you learn?
In the theoretical part, participants will become familiar with the factors affecting the taste and quality of the final cup of coffee, such as terroir, processing, storage, and roasting. We will then cover technologies related to coffee preparation and the theoretical aspects of espresso recipe setting. The practical part will smoothly follow the theoretical knowledge. Participants will learn to work with professional equipment found in every café (espresso machine and grinder), understand their principles of operation and settings, maintenance tasks, and daily upkeep. The main focus will be on preparing espresso, where participants will experiment with changing variables in the recipe and then practice milk frothing techniques with the basics of latte art.

Who will be teaching you
The course will be led by our head instructor at the doubleshot Coffee School, Kateřina Štoksová (Myšková). Kateřina has extensive experience both behind the bar, in front of the classroom, and in the competitive field. She is a certified instructor with the Specialty Coffee Association (SCA - Authorized SCA Trainer) and the current runner-up in the Czech Republic's main coffee competition, Barista of the Year. She visits various coffee-producing countries every year, assisting with coffee purchases from producers with whom we have long-term partnerships. You're in the best hands!

    The total duration of the course is approximately 7 hours, including a 30-minute lunch break.
