Fun - the bets of the best
Fun is the pinnacle of our offering. These are the best coffees that farmers produce on their farms, featuring exclusive varieties or experimental processes. Flavor-wise, they offer unique experiences for an extraordinary taste journey. Fun are the coffees that simply delight.
Currently, it's coffee from the La Llama farm of the Rodriguez family in Bolivia. This is their highest-altitude farm, where the geisha variety thrives remarkably. For us, geisha is the benchmark of the best we can taste. Geisha is known for its delicate fruity tones. The Coco natural process gives the coffee greater flavor intensity. You can look forward to a cup full of tropical fruit, honeyed sweetness, and floral aroma.
Fun is best enjoyed as filtered coffee, where the flavor profile of the coffee fully unfolds.
Kusillo Farm
La Llama is the highest-altitude farm owned by the Rodriguez family, with whom we have been collaborating since 2020. However, we have coffee from this farm for the first year. During our autumn visit to Bolivia, it impressed us with its tropical fruity flavor, characteristic of the geisha variety.
The farm is located in the important Yungas eco-region, renowned for its species diversity of fauna and flora. Additionally, coffee trees here grow in the shade of banana plants. In general, shade and biodiversity play a crucial role in producing high-quality coffee.

How does this coffee taste?
Our barista Lukáš was enchanted by this coffee's beautiful floral aroma. Its taste is juicy and full of exotic fruits like mango and tangerines. He enjoys how the flavor evolves with every sip.
Rodriguez Family
The Rodriguez family is working to reintroduce specialty coffee cultivation in Bolivia. With their approach, they support dozens of farms and strive to offer growers an alternative to coca cultivation. They have 12 farms in the Caranavi and Samaipata regions, which also serve as model farms for their Sol De La Mañana program. This is a social and educational program for 100 farmers.
They place great emphasis on organic coffee cultivation. They grow popular varieties such as geisha, java, caturra, or Kenyan SL28. In addition to coffee itself, they also produce dried coffee flowers and cascara.
Coco Natural Processing
The specific fruity flavor is due to the processing. The cherries were dried on African beds first for 5 days in direct sunlight and then in special drying containers at a maximum temperature of 40°C, for 20 days. These open containers are a rarity worldwide. Heat comes from gas burners, and the coffee is regularly turned over. The flavor profile depends mainly on the amount of cherries in the container and the frequency of turning.
The story of Geisha
The variety got to Panama through Tanzania and Costa Rica. In 50s it was grown for its resistance to leaf rust in these coutnries. It is unknown till today where does it originally come from. Allegedly it carries the name after a village called Gesha in Ethiopia.
In 2004 Danile Peterson, the owner of Hacienda La Esmeralda discovered this amazing coffee during his regular cupping. It scored the highest. The Petersons´ family decided to grow this variety seperately form the rest of varietes. They organised the very first online auction of this coffee. Geisha has changed the world of coffee since then....
