Sensory Course

This sensory course is for baristas or anybody interested in coffee and who would like to learn about their tasting skills. You will try to recognize quite a few flavours you can find in the cup of coffee such as blueberries, toffee or almonds in chocolate. Do you taste the same flavours as the others? Or is it all very subjective? This and much more you will learn about when you take this course.

Course content

You will learn how to identify aroma and taste and how do they appear in coffee. You will take a few blind tastings of the most basic flavours and several other flavours you can find in coffee. We will also use the aroma kit Le nez du café to smell all different aromas. The goal of this course is to understand perception of coffee flavours through our sense of smell and taste and to see how subjectively it can affect our evaluation. We will do all tasting following the SCA protocol and cupping score sheet.

You will try to distinguish different aromas and tastes. Sometimes so very slightly different from each other. That is why we ask not to use any parfume or afteshave before you come to the course, please.

FAQ

Who does teach the latte art course?
You will be tought by our two coffee trainers, Tereza Balá and Kateřina Myšková. Both are very experienced from behind the coffee bar but also from the competition stages. On the top of it Tereza is SCA certified trainer. You are in good hands, beleive us!
How long does the course take?
2,5 hours top.
How many people can attend?
The maximum attendance is 8 people, minimum is 4 people.

All courses are taught primarily in Czech. If you are interested in course dates in English, please contact us at skoleni@doubleshot.cz.
Cancellation policy
It is possible to cancel your attendance in a writting form(emailem) minimum 7 and more days before the start of the course (the latest - 8th day before the day of the course). You can reschedule for another date or get your money back. In the case of No Show or cancelling your attendance too late (1st-7th day before the day of the course) we will charge you the full price.
